Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a PHOSPHOLIPID. Overtraining is a natural hazard of competitive sports. The consequences can include decreased performance, injury, depressed immunity, and psychological depression. In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study, research showed that PS supplementation suppressed cortisol in cycling athletes. Compared to placebo, cortisol levels were 30% lower. Several other studies suggest that PS SPEEDS UP RECOVERY, PREVENTS MUSCLE SORENESS, IMPROVES COGNITIVE FUNCTION, and DECREASES MENTAL STRESS.
